In the afternoon, we will enjoy a wine tasting of the very best Austrian red and white wines in an authentic vineyard’s tavern, followed by dinner. For those who still have the energy, we can finish off the evening at one of the Christmas markets or a typical Viennese bar.

Vienna, the capital of Austria:

Vienna is the capital of Austria, located along the banks of the River Danube at the very heart of Europe. It has 1.8 million inhabitants, is rich in history and culture, and boasts an impressive number of palaces and monuments due to the centuries’ long reign of the Habsburg monarchy. Vienna is also known as the ‘City of Music’, as it has been home to vastly influential composers over the years, notably Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss and many others. The city has a proud musical heritage, and remains a Mecca for classical musicians today.

Vienna is one of the largest capital cities in Europe, and has been voted among the world’s top three ‘best places to live’ for the last 7 years in a row. Vienna is also the only city in Europe that produces its own wine. Its popular ‘Heurige’ inns that serve locally-produced wines and traditional Austrian dishes in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, are perfect for an evening out with friends. Vienna is also called the ‘City of Dreams’ thanks to the legacy of one of its most famous sons, Sigmund Freud, who had a vast cultural impact on the city in his lifetime and ensured Vienna would always be known as the birthplace of psychotherapy. Vienna is also famed for its traditional cafés, glamorous balls, the Spanish Riding School, art deco architecture. Vienna is a breathtaking experience – quite simply, one of the cities we should all have seen at least once in life.
