"Another fantastic holiday with SPOH! Such a lovely hotel - a beautiful setting with two large pools and plenty of sun loungers as well as a gorgeous sandy beach just in front. We loved watching the stunning sunsets and enjoyed a camel ride too. The trip to the Souk and Medina were both a great experience and we felt very safe with a local guide as well as the host. As always, such a lovely group of adults and children and a very helpful and friendly host. Already looking forward to my next SPOH holiday!"

"Had a fabulous time in Morocco, the hotel was very comfortable, food excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful. We did a mixture of pool and sea and beach. Plenty of activities for the teenagers including table tennis, water and beach volley ball and my son used the football pitch. We did 3 trips on offer, the camel ride, Agadir and the boat trip, all were good fun. I met the other parents at the airport and dined with them every night, 9 adults and 10 kids and we all got on really well together. Esther and Abdelaziz were wonderful hosts. Abdelaziz was available every day and accompanied us on all the trips, he also took us on a walk along the promenade one evening. Thanks SPOH, another fabulous experience."

"The Alpendorf holiday was pure fun from start to finish. The kids were constantly hanging out with their new friends, the adults were always laughing (on the slopes and in the bar) and Sandra and Tennessee ensured that we were all brilliantly looked after. It felt like a real break - which doesn't happen very often! What a wonderful week we had. It's so special as a single parent to feel looked after and the kids just love being part of a tribe. "Alpendorf proved to be the best week skiing ever!!
Both my children Harry 16 and Sophie-Rose 14 are already asking me to book again for next year. The venue was perfect, beautiful views, fantastic slopes. The hotel felt luxurious and friendly. Sandra's organisation was seamless so that I could really relax and Tennessee's sense of fun and superb skiing ability made the holiday really enjoyable. The other parents and children on the holiday were so friendly, welcoming and fun that it made the whole holiday an overwhelming success. Thank you."

"This was our third SPOH holiday. The hotel was really lovely with a short walk to the gondola which is essential with children on a ski holiday. The rooms were very comfortable and quite spacious with amazing views over the valley. The ski equipment was all ready and organised for us to pick up on the first morning. The group of parents and children were all very friendly and everyone had a fantastic holiday. Despite having a back problem early in the holiday that then prevented me from skiing, my daughter had a great time with the help of her new extended family. This would never have happened if we hadn't gone with SPOH. Thanks to Sandra, Tennessee and all guests for making it another fantastic holiday. Hope to see you all again soon."

"Not being big beach fans, the boys and I ventured to Austria in the summer for the out door life. We all had a great time. The boys learnt how to fish and I met new friends while on some lovely hikes. We enjoyed the whole Single Parent set up so much, that instead of our usual ski trip to Slovakia, we joined the group for the February half term skiing. Fantastic! Great company for us all with a highly recommended ski school, quality ski hire and variety of runs…….We have booked for next year!"

"This was a fantastic holiday from start to end. Our guide, Thomas, was incredibly helpful and very friendly and his input really made the trip memorable. The activities were fantastic and my 7-year old son absolutely loved them all. We normally left mid-morning for excursions and were back at the hotel by 3 pm (still time to have lunch) and then to swim in one of the 3 great pools. The kids especially loved the pool with the slide! The food at the hotel was of great quality and changed each day. The accommodation and facilities at the hotel were also great - as were the views from the terrace, where we enjoyed cocktails in the evening! All in all this was a fantastic holiday for both the adults and the children. We will definitely go back and would use SPOH again without any doubt."

"The hotel was a friendly, typically Austrian hotel in the Alps. Great views. Food choice was amazing. SPOH arranged some great day-out activities for the families, and you did feel obliged mostly to all do the trips together. If you do not like spending long days with / as a group then this holiday is not for you, because you do not get much time alone. Our kids bonded really well as did the adults and we enjoyed every minute. Our guide, Thomas was a very welcome addition to our group and we appreciated everything he did for us. He could not do enough and he made our holiday seamless and very relaxed and enjoyable. We made some very good friends in our group (including Thomas) and we miss everybody and are already talking about our next trip away together with SPOH!"

"Kristina age 11 - thank you for a lovely holiday. Me and nanny enjoyed ourselves so much. The slides in the salt caves were the best. Water rafting was so much fun and jumping off the rock into the river was very scary and exciting at the same time. I made friends and they are coming to visit us when we get back home.
Nanny age 55 - I was nervous at first, and wondered how I would get on with strangers but I had a lovely time, was never on my own, and watching my granddaughter enjoy herself with the other children was a bonus. The organised trips were very exciting; I especially loved the trek up the mountain and the picnic. We also managed to get some time just the two of us so couldn't have asked for a better holiday. Massive thank you to our 'guide' who was with us at meal times and on the excursions; organising us and making us laugh!"

"Another thoroughly enjoyable holiday with SPOH. Friendly, like-minded adults, happy and excited kids. There was something for everyone on this action-packed holiday: hiking, rafting, summer tobogganing, or just floating in the infinity pool with one of the most stunning views I have ever seen. Despite all the action, it was the most relaxing week I've had all year thanks to the expert organisation skills of our lovely host, Thomas. Along with the almost, non-stop, delicious food, I hardly had to think or lift a finger all week. I'm ready for next year's holiday now!"

"Alpendorf is a great location for this type of holiday, being on a mountain side enjoying fantastic views. The hotel has everything both the kids and adults could want including superb pools, one of them an infinity, a well-run gym with free classes and a wellness area. It’s full-board with the breakfast and dinner being excellent. The lunch is basic but runs for five hours leaving you to catch it before or after your day out; they’ll even make a packed lunch for you too. There are kids rooms and a park with mini golf, cars etc nearby that the kids can spend lots of time in whilst the adults relax in the hotel bar area.
Our guide, Thomas, organised daily activities which ranged from hikes to white-water rafting to tree-walking. My nine year old enjoyed all of these and was about the average age of the kids in the group. We had a large group with 14 adults so the girls and boys formed separate groups but everything worked well with both kids and adults being able to interact with different people during the week. Thomas had a laid-back approach which suited us and we never felt compelled to the activities.
Overall, it was a great week and I would recommend this to any single-parent, especially whose kids enjoy activities."

"The view from the hotel was beautiful and Fin (age 11) loved the infinity pool overlooking the mountains. The age ranges of the children meant that he had plenty of children to play with and had a great time during the day and evenings, playing endless games of Uno (leaving the adults to relax over dinner and at the bar!) and careering about in the local park which was full of activities and situated right below the hotel. Our guide Thomas kept us informed about the daily activities and meeting times and was very relaxed and great company. "

"A fantastic, action-packed week with friendly like-minded, people. An almost overwhelming choice of things to do – no two days were the same. Excellent hotel with a water slide that on its own would have kept my four-year-old happily occupied for a week. Delicious breakfasts and five course dinners every night kept us well fed for our packed agenda. A thoroughly enjoyable experience – one which I am looking forward to repeating!"

"I could not recommend Alpendorf summer break highly enough. Myself and my 4/almost 5 year old daughter had a great week. There was plenty of company for us both – a lovely rapport within the group. Our “leader” Daniela was simply great – she facilitated everyone and ensured all went smoothly without ever dominating the group. Meals with separate adult and children tables (which evolved quite naturally!) were very welcome – it meant both children and parents had breathing space! We were blessed with weather in Aug 2012 and it will go down as my first real holiday since my daughter was born in that I was not responsible for organisation and decisions etc. A no brainer for a single parent looking for a nice break and a change of scene. Activities suitable for all ages of children – something for everyone from lake trips to paragliding and rafting for the more adventurous. Food was very good and varied. Hotel is beautiful – family feel – small. Our room had a great view and was tastefully furnished in alpine style etc. Can say no more than that!"

Beautiful place, great weather, wonderful hotel and the fantastic Daniela ensuring everyone has a great time, and it was simply superb. Anyone thinking about travelling there, just do it! You will not regret it. My kids and I have memories now that we will keep forever and I cant put a price on that (don’t miss the rafting day!)! Single Parents on Holiday clearly have this one nailed. Kids have unlimited fun, adults relax too and my kids are insisting that I book 2 more for next year already! – we will be going again."

I liked there were loads of sunbeds and so easy to go from the pool to beach. It felt very safe and nice size for the kids. Other parents were lovely. For the first time in months, I slept properly and was able to unwind enough to actually read a book. I could only do this as I was comfortable that my 11 year old was having the time of her life and didn’t need me as entertainment. Being able to mix with a group of like minded adults all in the same position made this holiday. The children formed friends quickly and found their own entertainment. I was actually able to relax and not worry, everyone chipped in keeping an eye on the kids. We all formed a great bond as parents and ended up spending a considerable amount of time together. As a single dad this was a revelation and made my holiday. I met some wonderful people, made friends whom I will stay in contact with and my son had one of his best ever holidays.
I cannot recommend Single Parents on Holiday highly enough. If anyone is reading this because they too are feeling apprehensive about booking, please just book, you will not be disappointed."

The boat trip with our group to the blue grotto was brilliant. Swimming there in the morning before the other tourist boats arrived was a special experience. Sandra helped me book a bus tour of Montenegro which I did independently of the group, and was able to see so much of this beautiful and impressive country.
The hotel is very nice. I would go there again. The water is crystal clear and the scenery is impressive. With a small boat, which runs almost every hour, you can go directly from the hotel to Heceg Novi (10 minutes). Our room was top notch. I booked sea view and was given a room on the top floor with fantastic views. The food in the restaurant was very good. And we had a nice view. My son was in the kids' club on the last morning and liked what was on offer and the staff were very friendly. Sandra as a host was great. She took care of everything and everyone. She is personal and professional with a lot of passion."

"Montenegro is a beautiful country, Iberostar is a great hotel, I could not fault the attentiveness of the team and the views are stunning. The entertainment team here are brilliant, there were lots of activities throughout the day and the enthusiasm is contagious. The aqua aerobics was a big hit!
Sandra is a great host, very welcoming, she organised various trips/days out and she brought the group together whilst you still had the option to dip in and out if you wish. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier group, a great time was had by both adults and children. I highly recommend it. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!"

Montenegro didn't disappoint. From the wonderful hotel, to it's amazing location on the Bay of Kotor, from the enjoyable excursions organised by our guide, to just meeting up with the group each day for mealtimes or just chilling with them by the pool. You can be as involved with the group as much as you like or take a little time to do your own thing.

"This holiday far exceeded my expectations, great support and lovely company from the other guests in the group. I wish I had gone away with SPOH before, but I was not confident enough and felt like the odd one out being a lone parent. "The whole holiday was brilliant from the easy pick up to the comfortable Mercedes taxi ride back to the airport. Sandra’s attentiveness, organising of the water park trip , the extended stay in our accommodation and Tim’s interaction with my teenage boys all helped to turn what would have been a good holiday into a great holiday. The hotel accommodation was perfect for me and 2 big teenagers, plenty of space, the room, the pool, eating and bar areas were always clean and tidy. Combined with lots of sunshine and good company meant I had the perfect relaxing holiday, Thank you."

I couldn't have hand picked a better selection of guests; the whole group got on really well, nobody was left out and the children all mucked in as one happy family. The only negative is the bus ride to the main ski area, but the varied pistes and beautiful scenery is well worth the wait."

"Croatia is a stunning location; very green and picturesque. The coastline is quite rocky but beautiful terraces have been created with natural stone for you to sunbathe, snorkel or just swim from. The water is very clear and blue, making it very easy to see the fish. There is lots to do at the resort…..you can venture into Porec on the mini train or visit Rovinj via the fjords in a taxi or by boat.
We visited Porec at night, ate in an amazing restaurant, slightly out of town (suitable for all ages) and returned to the hotel by water taxi - wow! What an experience …very 007!
Our host Tomas was most charming and really great at organizing everything. We met some great people and made fabulous memories. "

"The hotel is located on a resort but you feel like it is the only hotel. There is a lovely harbour as you walk down from the hotel and this leads to a small forest and the waters edge. A must for some chill time, swimming in the beautiful sea or a lazy day on a hammock under a tree with a sea view. There is music in the hotel at night, which is nice and relaxing. Although it woke up on the Friday evening when Elvis appeared. I think Elvis was ready to leave the building after he had us doing the Choo Choo train to Viva Las Vegas!
The activities offered and arranged were outstanding. We had a great day at the water park – suitable for all ages.
Dolphin watching was made extra special with the excitement of the little ones aged 5 – 10. A great boat trip and snorkelling, although the children seemed to be enjoying the warm sea and jumping off the boat. We had the wonderful Thomas as our host and he was always close at hand and available to us all. He arranged at our request a meal out, which took us to a beach, which felt exclusive to the group. The children of all ages wandered, played and there was much laughter. The highlight of the night and my trip was the water taxi home in the dark. An experience definitely not to be missed."

My 16 year old son made friends quickly so I hardly saw him for the duration of the holiday!

The hotel was exceptional in catering for children, from the little extras in the hotel room (bed guards, steps, children's toiletries, children's robes), the games and ice cream machine in reception, to the simply amazing soft play/trampoline/activity centre, complete with childminders. The organisation was great and nothing was to much trouble for Sandra. I was nervous about taking a small child on holiday on my own, but was so glad I did. My son enjoyed himself thoroughly, both skiing and in the hotel facilities, and I got to relax a bit. Above all, it was great sharing the experience with other like minded single parents. "This was a fantastic holiday from start to end. Our guide, Thomas, was incredibly helpful and very friendly and his input really made the trip memorable. The activities were fantastic and my 7-year old son absolutely loved them all. We normally left mid-morning for excursions and were back at the hotel by 3 pm (still time to have lunch) and then to swim in one of the 3 great pools. The kids especially loved the pool with the slide! The food at the hotel was of great quality and changed each day. The accommodation and facilities at the hotel were also great - as were the views from the terrace, where we enjoyed cocktails in the evening! All in all this was a fantastic holiday for both the adults and the children. We will definitely go back and would use SPOH again without any doubt."

"The hotel was a friendly, typically Austrian hotel in the Alps. Great views. Food choice was amazing. SPOH arranged some great day-out activities for the families, and you did feel obliged mostly to all do the trips together. If you do not like spending long days with / as a group then this holiday is not for you, because you do not get much time alone. Our kids bonded really well as did the adults and we enjoyed every minute. Our guide, Thomas was a very welcome addition to our group and we appreciated everything he did for us. He could not do enough and he made our holiday seamless and very relaxed and enjoyable. We made some very good friends in our group (including Thomas) and we miss everybody and are already talking about our next trip away together with SPOH!"

"Kristina age 11 - thank you for a lovely holiday. Me and nanny enjoyed ourselves so much. The slides in the salt caves were the best. Water rafting was so much fun and jumping off the rock into the river was very scary and exciting at the same time. I made friends and they are coming to visit us when we get back home.
Nanny age 55 - I was nervous at first, and wondered how I would get on with strangers but I had a lovely time, was never on my own, and watching my granddaughter enjoy herself with the other children was a bonus. The organised trips were very exciting; I especially loved the trek up the mountain and the picnic. We also managed to get some time just the two of us so couldn't have asked for a better holiday. Massive thank you to our 'guide' who was with us at meal times and on the excursions; organising us and making us laugh!"

There was something for everyone on this action-packed holiday: hiking, rafting, summer tobogganing, or just floating in the infinity pool with one of the most stunning views I have ever seen. "Alpendorf is a great location for this type of holiday, being on a mountain side enjoying fantastic views. The hotel has everything both the kids and adults could want including superb pools, one of them an infinity, a well-run gym with free classes and a wellness area. It’s full-board with the breakfast and dinner being excellent. The lunch is basic but runs for five hours leaving you to catch it before or after your day out; they’ll even make a packed lunch for you too. There are kids rooms and a park with mini golf, cars etc nearby that the kids can spend lots of time in whilst the adults relax in the hotel bar area.
Our guide, Thomas, organised daily activities which ranged from hikes to white-water rafting to tree-walking. My nine year old enjoyed all of these and was about the average age of the kids in the group. We had a large group with 14 adults so the girls and boys formed separate groups but everything worked well with both kids and adults being able to interact with different people during the week. Thomas had a laid-back approach which suited us and we never felt compelled to the activities.
Overall, it was a great week and I would recommend this to any single-parent, especially whose kids enjoy activities."

"The view from the hotel was beautiful and Fin (age 11) loved the infinity pool overlooking the mountains. The age ranges of the children meant that he had plenty of children to play with and had a great time during the day and evenings, playing endless games of Uno (leaving the adults to relax over dinner and at the bar!) and careering about in the local park which was full of activities and situated right below the hotel. Our guide Thomas kept us informed about the daily activities and meeting times and was very relaxed and great company. "

"I could not recommend Alpendorf summer break highly enough. Myself and my 4/almost 5 year old daughter had a great week. There was plenty of company for us both – a lovely rapport within the group. Our “leader” Daniela was simply great – she facilitated everyone and ensured all went smoothly without ever dominating the group. Meals with separate adult and children tables (which evolved quite naturally!) were very welcome – it meant both children and parents had breathing space! We were blessed with weather in Aug 2012 and it will go down as my first real holiday since my daughter was born in that I was not responsible for organisation and decisions etc. A no brainer for a single parent looking for a nice break and a change of scene. Activities suitable for all ages of children – something for everyone from lake trips to paragliding and rafting for the more adventurous. Food was very good and varied. Hotel is beautiful – family feel – small. Our room had a great view and was tastefully furnished in alpine style etc. Can say no more than that!"

The farm was idyllic. We did the two day trips and all the farm activities, but also had lots of time to relax by the pool.

"Spent the best week of my life in Magredi. This place was just magical and "absolutely perfect" according to my daughter. Having so many beautiful horses around was an unexpected bonus. Riding lessons were fun and well delivered.
Apart from that, additional 2 activity a day were educational and fun.

There were two activities a day which you didn't have to join in if you did not want to but we always went along and they were so informative and great fun. From day one we all bonded so well as a group and the kids sat on one table for dinner and we sat on the other table to enjoy our meals, It was so relaxing and so safe for the kids especially as there was always someone to play with in the pool or just have a chat to, a brilliant way to meet other single parents, and make new friends. "My daughter and I enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Magredi in the beautiful and very rural Friulian Dolomites area of Italy. I chose the holiday because it was recommended by a friend and because it felt there was a great balance of activities that we would both enjoy like enjoying the delights of the farm amidst the beauty of the mountain and lakes, while being able to have time out at the pool and first class horse-riding facilities. For us adults there were also nice touches like wine tasting.
We had never experienced a holiday with a similar group of single parents, and were a little nervous over what to expect. However, we need not be concerned. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by both our fabulous and very organised rep for the week, Andrea, and the rest of the group. Within hours we were all chatting away and making friends. Violet absolutely loved having a big group of kids to hang around with and enjoyed the freedom of being able to amble around the farm without adult supervision at all times. Being able to ride a horse every day was a dream come true for her, and she came home a competent rider.
My daughter enjoyed all the range of activities on offer, and while she would happily be in the pool all day, relished the chance to pick fruit to then make into jam, take a horse and tractor ride around the farm, and arts and craft mornings.
It was fabulous not having to make decisions over what we were going to do each day, that it was all organised for us, and that we just had to turn up. That made it relaxing for us adults and it was nice also not having to cook! It was also great that you knew there as always a parent on hand to keep an eye on your child if you needed some time out.
Single Parents on Holiday are a very professional outfit, who take a very individual and personal approach to ensuring you have a fantastic, and easy holiday to make memories to last a lifetime. I will be recommending to all my friends looking to take a similar holiday.

We were so well looked after by Therese and the staff. It was probably the first holiday I have been on where I have not come back exhausted! The accommodation and food was excellent. The surrounding farmland and countryside were beautiful. We very quickly settled into a relaxed routine. Yes, there is a schedule but it never felt rushed or forced. And this mix of ingredients helped us all naturally gel together as a friendly, supportive and inclusive group. The children all played together and looked after each other every evening (aged 3 to 13 - they were just one gang!).

"This holiday was everything we were looking for and more. I chose this as the farm idea with a pool sounded very appealing to my 7 year old. The activities organised by the hotel appealed to the range of ages of children on the trip. They all seemed to enjoy them. The horse and carriage and tractor rides were a particular highlight. The pool area was lovely. The whole place had a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the staff were great. On day 2 my daughter said she never wanted to leave and on the last day did ask for reassurance that we would be back. "

"It was so lovely to return to Magredi after a couple of years. As before, Daniela the host welcome us warmly and looked after us throughout the stay. It was wonderful to meet another friendly group of parents and children and there were so many fun activities to enjoy together. Clara loved discovering the workings of a farm (learning to identify crops, picking fruit, making jam) and being ferried about in a horse-drawn cart. "Spent the best week of my life in Magredi. This place was just magical and "absolutely perfect" according to my daughter. Having so many beautiful horses around was an unexpected bonus. Riding lessons were fun and well delivered.
Apart from that, additional 2 activity a day were educational and fun.
Kids were also having fun splashing in the pool and having yummy lunches at the pool bar.
We were looked after by Sandra who is an amazing person. Always with a smile and so classy. She always went the extra mile to accommodate our needs and preferences.

"This was a first for my daughter and i going on a single parents holiday, and i must admit we didn't know what to expect, but the moment we arrived at the hotel we met up with some lovely parents and our lovely leader Therese who made us feel so welcome. There were two activities a day which you didn't have to join in if you did not want to but we always went along and they were so informative and great fun. From day one we all bonded so well as a group and the kids sat on one table for dinner and we sat on the other table to enjoy our meals, It was so relaxing and so safe for the kids especially as there was always someone to play with in the pool or just have a chat to, a brilliant way to meet other single parents, and make new friends. We started a group what's app so we could swap photos and hence i have way more photos of my daughter and myself than i have ever had on other hols. Don't hesitate book today. "

"This was the trip of life time. As a newly single mum, i had lost my confidence to travel alone with my girls. This holiday has reawakened my desire to see Europe and give my girls an understanding that the world is exciting and beautiful. Magredi is simply stunning. The backdrop of the mountains is breathtakingly and life on the farm is full of adventure and activities we've never tried. The horse and cart experience was laid back and unrushed. We have had many new experiences... Horse gymnastics, mosaic making and plenty of cooking experiences. "Danielle, who was our host made sure everything was organised for the children's activities which were wonderful. They made pasta, biscuits, created mosaics, went horse-riding (extra cost), rode on a horse and cart and more. Unfortunately, myself and my daughter missed the trip to Venice because we arrived two days late, but we visited a beautiful lake where the children played in a park and took a little walk to the ice-cream shop. "My daughter and I enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Magredi in the beautiful and very rural Friulian Dolomites area of Italy. I chose the holiday because it was recommended by a friend and because it felt there was a great balance of activities that we would both enjoy like enjoying the delights of the farm amidst the beauty of the mountain and lakes, while being able to have time out at the pool and first class horse-riding facilities. For us adults there were also nice touches like wine tasting.
We had never experienced a holiday with a similar group of single parents, and were a little nervous over what to expect. However, we need not be concerned. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by both our fabulous and very organised rep for the week, Andrea, and the rest of the group. Within hours we were all chatting away and making friends. Violet absolutely loved having a big group of kids to hang around with and enjoyed the freedom of being able to amble around the farm without adult supervision at all times. Being able to ride a horse every day was a dream come true for her, and she came home a competent rider.
My daughter enjoyed all the range of activities on offer, and while she would happily be in the pool all day, relished the chance to pick fruit to then make into jam, take a horse and tractor ride around the farm, and arts and craft mornings.
It was fabulous not having to make decisions over what we were going to do each day, that it was all organised for us, and that we just had to turn up. That made it relaxing for us adults and it was nice also not having to cook! It was also great that you knew there as always a parent on hand to keep an eye on your child if you needed some time out.
Single Parents on Holiday are a very professional outfit, who take a very individual and personal approach to ensuring you have a fantastic, and easy holiday to make memories to last a lifetime. I will be recommending to all my friends looking to take a similar holiday.

Or worse, my children didn’t get on with the other children? But my concerns were very quickly brushed aside. We spent a lovely week with some amazing people who will be friends for life. "I could not recommend this type of holiday and Magredi enough.
We were so well looked after by Therese and the staff. It was probably the first holiday I have been on where I have not come back exhausted! The accommodation and food was excellent. The surrounding farmland and countryside were beautiful. We very quickly settled into a relaxed routine. Yes, there is a schedule but it never felt rushed or forced. And this mix of ingredients helped us all naturally gel together as a friendly, supportive and inclusive group. The children all played together and looked after each other every evening (aged 3 to 13 - they were just one gang!).
And as for the "grown ups" - I can't remember the last time I laughed so much!

"This was the best family holiday we've ever had. We've done regular package holidays in the past and while we've enjoyed them, I've found it lonely at times without adult company and the kids, particularly, have always been glad to get home. This time it was a huge wrench to leave for all of us. Our host, Thomas, and the hotel staff, Gelindo, Donatello and their team, could not do enough for us to make sure we had a really great time, both parents and children alike. I can't fault the service, the food, the activities or the warmth of the welcome in any way. There were so many special events put on just for our group, I can honestly say this week was the first time when being a single parent has felt a privilege. Our week was made extra special by the lovely group of like-minded people we were lucky to share our holiday with. If I had one concern before arriving, it was that I wouldn't get on with the other parents and would feel forced to have group fun! In fact the other holiday makers were fantastic company, the activities were relaxed with no obligation to join in and plenty of flexibility when we did. We also had time to relax by the pool and just enjoy our surroundings on the farm.

"My daughter and I went to Magredi in July 2015. We had a fantastic holiday. It was the first on our own and met some really lovely people. The hotel was just how I had imagined it. Very rustic, truly Italian with a fantastic family who owned it and cared for their guests. The rooms were basic but very clean with air conditioning. The surrounding area is stunning and our favourite was the local gelateri within walking distance. Food was fantastic and fresh. Wine great. Kids all happy with lots of great activities. The whole trip however was made perfect by our fantastic guide and host- Tennessee who was so good and he could not have been more helpful especially when our taxi broke down on the way back to the airport- after many telephone calls we got to the airport 10 minutes after the flight should have gone but thankfully the plane was being held for us so we made it!"

"I had a fabulous holiday in Marrakesh as a single parent of a 7 year old boy. I had no idea what to expect but it turned out to be a wonderful holiday. My son was crying and did not want to leave as he had formed bonds with the other children. Jane was a great host. She was very warm, immediately put me at ease, and was extremely helpful and patient as she navigated a lot of different needs. She was excellent with the younger kids. She brought her 19.5 year old son along, who was a huge hit with all the kids. My 7 year old son loved him! It would be great for future holidays if Will was available to co-host with his mum and do some activities with the kids. I think that would work really well. "We had a lovely time on holiday in Marrakesh. The resort was fabulous with lots to do, comfortable rooms and delicious food. The weather at Easter is ideal, nice and sunny without being too hot. We enjoyed getting out and about, seeing the sights of the city of Marrakesh and also exploring further afield to the Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains. Highlights were going camel riding and watching the sun set over the Djemaa el Fna.
We were with a fabulous group of mums and kids and were well looked after by our amazing host Jane, who was always helpful and positive. "

"Great holiday and lovely resort. Jane, our host, was excellent. The tours weren’t all designed for younger kids or with road safety in mind. Souk trip only appropriate for older kids e.g. secondary school age. Overall would recommend if the issues with the trips were sorted. "

"I took my 5 year old daughter on this trip and it was a sensational holiday for us both. The excursion to the souks was a real cultural experience - with snake charmers and handmade items galore. The vibrant colours and vivid designs were truly breathtaking. The local guide meant that we were not hassled too much and I’d recommend checking local prices to avoid being ripped off. I’d also take a buggy/stroller if your child isn’t great at walking longer distances. The weather was absolutely perfect varying between 25 and 29 degrees which meant that the children spent the majority of their time in the swimming pools. The Atlas Mountain excursion is well worth it. Overall an amazing holiday that we didn’t want to end! We managed to find a local camel ride which just topped everything off! You won’t regret going on this holiday."

"This was my second Single Parents On Holiday trip and very different to the first. This is more of a city break with the added benefit of a nice hotel with a pool. It was a great and safe way to see Marrakesh with children in tow. My boys were literally gobsmacked when Karmel lead us out of the Souk into the main square with its colours and snake charmers, dancers, monkeys and street sellers. The mix of old and new takes your breath away."

"My son and I have just returned from a trip to Marrakesh and wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had. It goes without saying the weather was fantastic; so lovely to leave a cold and wet Britain and travel to warmth and sunshine. The hotel was all inclusive so, as expected, we got the usual bounteous buffet for breakfasts and three course lunches and dinners, but, what I hadn’t anticipated was that the hotel snack bar would continue to provide food and drinks throughout the day without additional charge. “Snacks” ranged from freshly made pizzas, burgers, chips and pancakes and both alcoholic and soft drinks were served. The pizzas and pancakes made my son particularly happy! The hotel also had a wide range of facilities, including crazy golf, tennis, table tennis, boules, indoor and outdoor pools, football and volley ball! Enough to keep us entertained for the whole week even if we didn’t feel inclined to do any of the day trips. That said our guided adventures to the souks, the mountains and a very memorable dromedary ride were colourful and informative. Some of the families got into the real spirit of bartering. The two guides, Mustafa and Kamel, were wonderfully friendly and attentive. They kept an eye on the children, even whilst at the hotel, and joined in in playing crazy golf and table tennis. My son now wants a table tennis set after the tuition they gave him! The guides were also very flexible in changing trips or dates for trips to suit the families. As usual, with a SPoH holiday, I also got the chance to meet and make friends with the other families and we all got on so well we hope to meet on another holiday soon. So thanks again SPoH."

"Mayrhofen provides a great family skiing experience. There is a good range of slopes taking learners from gentle to more challenging terrain, and a few tougher ones to keep the speed demons happy. Also the direction of the pistes ensures there's always somewhere good to ski even when the sun is doing its best to melt the snow. "We went to Austria with Single Parents on Holiday for the first time this half term and I would really recommend it. Sandra was fantastic at helping me choose the right holiday for us and was very honest and open about the different types of people who would be there. I chose this one as I wanted a mix of mums and dads as this was important for my children, who lost their dad 2 years ago. At first it was a little hard trying to get to know everyone, as there were a number who had been on holiday together before, but as the week went on, we started to get to know everyone more. Sandra and Tennessee were very good at mixing with everyone and ensuring that no one was left out. I personally really enjoyed meeting a variety of different people, different ages and backgrounds and the dinners in the evening were really fun. They organised a great tobogganing evening, which the kids loved. The hotel was excellent and very Austrian which was lovely. The staff were very helpful and it was very clean. The pool and sauna facilities were very good. We really enjoyed being in the beautiful town of Mayrhofen and it was lovely walking through the town after a day's skiing. The skiing itself was excellent with lots of great runs and we were fortunate to have lots of snow. We have made some really good friends and had lots of fun. We will definitely book again. "This was my third Solo ski trip (fourth Solo holiday) and it did not disappoint / lived up to my expectations. It was also my second visit to the Hotel Steiner in Obertauern.
We were a smaller group this year but that made no difference whatsoever, I had a great holiday that was very well organised (prior to and during the trip) and with great company. Sandra even managed to sway (almost) perfect ski & weather conditions!
The hotel was great - a real find with a lot on offer and very friendly staff ... and so easy for accessing the piste.

"I am 65 years old, a fit and capable skier with many years of experience. I love to go to the mountains every year, usually with family or friends. Unfortunately, my partner, because of injury, will never ski again, so sometimes I have gone skiing on my own when there are no family or friends to go with. It is fair to say, skiing on one’s own is a bit of a lonely experience.

This year I looked for a singles ski trip and found the Obertauen trip with Sandra and Single Parent Holidays. I felt Andrea and Daniela were incredible hosts - making everything so easy from airport transfers, to finding our rooms, to hiring skis, to sorting out issues with the ski school and making sure everyone was having the holiday experience that worked for them. There was opportunity to do things as part of the group, but no pressure to do so. "A 10 to 15 minute private transfer from Paphos airport to the Athena Beach Hotel. Greeted by our wonderful rep Jane at this stunning hotel. Our room was large with air con, everything you want a mini bar, hairdryer, tv, iron, super comfy bed.
The hotel was full but there were never queues for drinks/food and we always got a sun lounger (you have to be early for one around the pool). The hotel grounds merge onto the beach, the sea is clear however the sea bed is undulating rocks but it didn't stop us snorkelling and swimming.
Food is in abundance and very nice too, waiter service was faultless both in restaurants and around the hotel grounds.
Jane organised several trips including aquapark, sunset cruise and a little shopping in the old town of Paphos and its harbour.
My son and I made amazing friendships and spent the days and nights with new friends, mums and dads all looked out for each other's children, whatsapp came in handy with meet ups and times of what's going on, such as cocktails on the terrace. My only downside a little was that the evening entertainment was nice but repetitive. There is still plenty of places to go outside hotel if you wish.
SPOH was amazing, you have the comfort of someone to help you if needed. Jane was fantastic on our trip."

"James and I attended the Peak District holiday in August 2021. We arrived at the same time as another family, James asked the two boys to play football and they became firm friends! The farmhouse was amazing, each bedroom was beautifully decorated, clean and modern. There was a huge kitchen where we could all eat together. There was two living rooms, which was ideal when parents wanted quiet time away from the kids. But the best part was the well-equipped games room in a separate building where James and his new friends spent many happy hours having fun.
Our holiday coordinator organised some fun trips, which we did as a whole group, group meals in the farmhouse and a local pub. Being part of such a friendly, large group of families was such fun. James and I have seen some of the families since the holiday, we are delighted to have made good friends. This is one of our favourite holidays, I cannot recommend it enough. Very well organised and fun with like-minded people. We will be doing another SPOH again for sure, we might even do this one again next year- maybe see you there!! "

"My daughter and I had a lovely time at this converted farm. The children enjoyed playing in the game room and watching TV together. The adults hung out in the evenings either outside or in one of the reception rooms. We enjoyed the outings to the Heights of Abraham and to Chatsworth house. Will be returning if I can. "A truly wonderful way to go on holiday as a single parent. The children were mixed age which made it feel rather like a large family. My 13 year old for example took charge of the four year old and they developed a very sweet connection. "I have just spent a really lovely week In Schladming in Feb 2016. My daughter Daisy age 8 and I had a really great time and made lots of new friends. The group were all lovely and all the children got on well. The hotel was very comfortable, great food, great company and of course the skiing was good too. A good resort for beginners/intermediates as runs not too difficult. The ski school was excellent and Daisy had fun making new friends. You must do the 7km tobogganing run as it’s such fun. Daniela and Jacob were our hosts for the week and helped thing run smoothly. They helped organise ski equipment which when you’re on your own with children could have been difficult. Overall a great holiday which I would recommend."

"For our first skiing trip together, for myself and my 2 teenagers we needed our hands holding. I also didn’t want to be a single parent amongst all the other 2 parent happy families. So I took a leap of faith after reading the website closely and a couple of phone calls (to what turned out to be the efficient and lovely Sandra) and booked our first skiing holiday. Always another adult to talk to. Kids for yours to mix with. A hand to hold and guide you at the resort, not the hand of a paid rep, but the owner of the company at the hotel who really cares and whose business and livelihood is affected if they get it wrong. The holiday turned out to have other first time participants also taking the same leap of faith as me, but more importantly a significant contingent who were returning 2nd 3rd and 4th times such was the success of their previous holidays. My young son was delighted to find lots of other children to play with (before, during and after skiing) – which in itself added to my own enjoyment and opportunity to relax. "Ian the host went above and beyond what I would have expected. Thanks to his dedication, the holiday ran smoothly and a great time was had by all (both parents and children).
The activities were well organised and there was a variety to suit all ages, but you had the option to opt out of activities if you wished.
The farm was idyllic location for children to all play together (in our group from 4 up to 15 years) without their phones, and they all made really good friends. By the end of the week we felt like one extended family!
Asked 'what was the highlight of her week?', my daughter answered 'everything!'"

"I took my nearly 3 year old son and at times we would leave early from visits because he would need his nap, that's the only thing different about taking a toddler. But I think the nap was more for me than him!
The accommodation was perfect (I asked for a bed against the wall for co sleeping and I got what I wanted) but I still needed to keep a sharp eye on him when wondering around the place which is understandable because it is not enclosed. The accommodation was split and he liked to pop down and up all the time... I was more tired than he was! Every morning he would groom the donkeys and his favourite visit was the farm (cuddling the piglets) and the beautiful beach where he explored the rock pools looking for crab with all the other children on the holiday. Everyone was really helpful and were lovely company. We look forward to booking again next year. "

"A fab holiday from start to finish. Sandra spoke to me on phone first as it was my first SPoH trip so I had some questions. Then when I got there it was so well thought out. Blackadon Farm was a great place in a beautiful setting. We loved that you could walk to the river and across the golf course to their clubhouse for yummy food. I was nervous as a single parent trying a holiday like this but Ruby was so welcoming and friendly. She really looked after us. She organised all our trips to various attractions as a group. She joined us on all the adventures and the chilled out evenings too. She got us chatting as a group and played board games with the kids in the evening so us mums could catch up over a glass of vino. We got on very well as a group. I'll be booking again! "

"I was hesitant about going as my son is only 2 years old, however our host was really welcoming and good with him and he had a great time mixing with the other children. The proximity of the room to the communal area gave me the chance to socialise in the evening too. We were able to join in with the daytime activities around the local area but we equally enjoyed playing in the stream and with the donkeys at the cottages. I’d definitely recommend this holiday for adults and children of all ages."

"My sons and I thoroughly enjoyed our first SPOH holiday in Spoleto. I had half-feared beforehand that it would be one big therapy session for bitter divorced people, but the truth could not be further from that - it is a chance to have fun and share a wonderful part of Italy with a group of like-minded adults with children of a similar age.
The organised activities took my sons out of their normal comfort zone (for example there was quite a lot of walking) but to my pleasant surprise they embraced the challenge, partly because it was fun and partly because they were inspired by the older children. The food at the hotel was really excellent (and I don't say that often), and the staff were happy to serve drinks outside when asked. Claudia did a wonderful job of herding the parents and keeping everyone happy. "

"We had a really relaxing and enjoyable week staying in the company of other families, Claudia our guide and Roberta the hotel Manager. One of the biggest draws was the hotel with its family friendly atmosphere and approach. The food was fantastic both for the adults and if the kids wanted something simpler, that was no problem either. The pool was just the right size and kept the kids occupied whilst giving the adults valuable space and time to relax. Claudia, our guide, was from the nearby town, Spoleto, so knows and clearly loves the area. The pace of the holiday was good and never felt like we had a whistle stop tour of places to go and things to do. When we ventured out there was a good mix of cultural and active trips to enjoy. The area is beautiful and comparable to Tuscany in terms of nature and architecture. My son especially enjoyed the rafting, high-wiring in the activity park and the trip to the impressive waterfalls. Overall I would recommend this holiday for those who want a variety of relaxation, great food, personal service, culture and activities. "

"A great holiday if you like walking combined with fabulous food and wine! The hotel was very child friendly and provided excellent food every day. The hotel manager Roberta and her staff could not do enough for us. The days out were long days and as it was over 30C I would imagine that young children would struggle with the walking needed. However we really enjoyed the trips and our guide Claudia made every effort to make our stay as interesting and pleasant as possible. My son really enjoyed the white water rafting while my favourite trip was to Azzizi. We had 2 days by the pool which were excellent as we were taken to see all the animals the hotel has and we also made pizza one evening under the expert eye of the hotel chef. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel."

"This was my 4th solos ski trip with SPOH & I was not disappointed. I have been in this region before but it was a first for SPOH. The Erzberg Hotel is a lovely family run boutique hotel with the added bonus of being ski-in, ski-out. The Arlberg region is vast covering St Anton, Stuben, Zurs, Lech, Warth/Schrocken. Sandra as always was an excellent host. I was slightly concerned that 6th April was going to be a bit late for a skiing trip but I needn't have worried, there was lots of snow. Yes it did get a bit slushy in the afternoon but only to be expected at this time of the year. I am in my late 60s & would highly recommend this trip to others, I will definitely be booking again next year. "
