Solo Ski Holiday in Austria

Join us on one of our fun solo ski holidays in Austria! In March 2022 we will stay in Schladming, one of the most famous ski resorts in Austria and host of the most spectacular night ski slalom of the World Cup winter season. Solo ski holidays are ideal for anyone who is single, whose partner doesn’t ski or whose children are too old to join our single parent ski holidays.

Accommodation:

For this solo ski holiday in Austria we will be staying at our long-established and popular 4-star Hotel Mitterhofer on half-board basis and in short walking distance of the West Planai cable car station. For our group of solo skiers we have reserved double rooms for single occupancy, with en-suite facilities and balcony. After an active day on the slopes, you can relax at the hotel’s spa with heated outdoor pool and saunas, before indulging in a 4-course dinner. The centre of Schladming with its cafés, après-ski bars, shops and restaurants is only a 15-minute stroll away.

The Ski Resort – Schladming:

Schladming is famous for its 4-Mountains Ski Circuit (made up of the Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm mountains) and forms part of Austria’s biggest ski region, Ski Amadé, which has runs stretching over 760 km and an FIS race course. There is plenty of après-ski fun to be had, amongst others at the ‘Tenne‘ in the centre of Schladming, probably the most famous après-ski bar in Austria. Our Prices:

£790 for single occupancy of a double room for 5 nights, and £1060 for single occupancy of a double room for 7 nights. This price includes half-board at our 4-star hotel, airport transfers and services of a host, who will organise lift passes, ski hire and lessons and offer ski guiding for intermediate and advanced skiers. Programme

Your Solo Ski Holiday in Schladming:

The West Planai cable car in short walking distance of our hotel is the entry point to the famous ski area of the award-winning 4-Mountains Ski Circuit, so you can enjoy a huge choice of blue, red and black runs without ever having to take off your skis! The ski area consists of 44 cable cars and lifts linking 123 kilometres of pistes – an absolute dream for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Austria offers some of the best facilities in the world for both beginners and advanced skiers. Its ski schools are renowned for their qualified instructors. You can book group or private lessons if you are a beginner or want to improve your skills, or you can join your host who will guide all intermediate/advanced skiers down the slopes. Naturally, your host will organise lift passes and take everyone to the ski/snowboard hire shop, where their pre-booked equipment will be waiting for them.

There are also many other ways to enjoy the beautiful Alpine landscape, of course: Explore on foot and admire the panoramic views, get on your cross-country skis and tackle 20 km of cross country tracks, or treat yourself to a ride through wonderful scenery in a horse-drawn carriage. But be sure to save some energy for our floodlit toboggan evening and an evening at one of the famous après-ski bars!

About Schladming

The Town of Schladming:

Schladming first appeared in historical records in 1180, and started to become a popular ski resort in the late 19th century. Situated in Austria’s north-western Styria and surrounded by the spectacular mountain scenery of the Dachstein-Tauern region, the mountain village is a well-known winter sports resort nowadays. the resort is famous for its 4-Mountains Ski Circuit (the four mountains in question being Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm) and forms part of Austria’s biggest ski region, Ski Amadé, which has runs stretching over 865 km and an FIS race course.

Schladming is a small working town with a friendly and authentically Austrian atmosphere. It still has a very ‘villagey’ feel to it. The old town district is home to cafés, shops, restaurants and bars, as well as the medieval town portal and fortifications dating back to the 14th century, the old town hall, town museum, 16th century churches and Prince August von Saxe-Coburg Gotha’s former hunting lodge.

There is plenty of après-ski fun to be had around the Planai station in Schladming, and the town offers a wide range of shops and evening entertainment. The perfect resort for a solo ski holiday!

We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with the “The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018” all passengers booking with Single Parents on Holiday Ltd. are fully insured for the initial deposit, and subsequently the balance of monies paid as detailed in your booking confirmation invoice.
