Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, only 60 miles from the coast of Morocco. It is a volcanic island and famous for its enormous sand dunes, endless sandy beaches and perfect conditions for a wide variety of water sports. Apart from some of the most impressive beaches in Europe, Fuerteventura enjoys a sunny dry climate all year round with a maximum temperature of 30°C in August - making it a perfect family holiday destination for our single parents.

We will be staying in Jandía, a stylish resort at the southern tip of the island, near the small picturesque fishing village of Morro Jable. Jandía features the best beach on Fuerteventura, if not the Canaries – wide and sandy, it stretches for over 20 miles against a stunning backdrop of vast mountains and blue skies. With crystal clear seas and benefiting from refreshing Atlantic breezes, this is a splendid place for sun-seekers and water sports enthusiasts.

The Hotel and Resort:

Our single parents and their children will be staying at the family friendly 4-star hotel Fuerteventura Palace which is located directly on Jandía’s fine sandy beach. The modern and luxurious family hotel is set out in a triangle opening up to the sea and boasts a spacious pool landscape facing the beach. The hotel has a diving centre and is close to a golf course with favourable rates for all hotel guests. The hotel is great for families with teenagers as there is a teenage club at the hotel that offers a great programme including sports and water sports.

Rooms are fully fitted with en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, fridge, safe, hair dryer, mini bar and private balcony or terrace.

Sports, Kids Club and Entertainment:

The hotel has a mini club (4-8 years), maxi club (9-12 years) and teenage club (13-17 years). The mini and maxi clubs offer a varied programme of organized play, kids shows and games suitable to the different age groups, while the teenage club boasts a great sports and entertainment programme including beach volleyball, water sports, pool games, music and much more.

For those who want to keep up their exercise regime during their holiday, there is a well-equipped gym at the hotel. In addition, if you enjoy a bit of pampering, why not visit the state of the art Thai Zen Spa in our sister hotel Gaviotas Park next door with saunas, Jacuzzi, steam room, massages and beauty treatments.

In the evenings, our single parent families can have dinner together as a group in the hotel restaurant and chill out in the bar afterwards, whilst their kids enjoy each other’s company during and after meals allowing their parents to relax. The hotel offers an entertainment programme in the evenings that will include daily shows, concerts and discos for the children.
